Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Distinguished Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. It is believed that she was the one responsible for initiating the modern study of the memory of witnesses and also children's witnesses. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous awards and grants. She has consulted with various governments and agencies across the world on policies and research on children's victimization within the court system. She currently acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of numerous professional organizations which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a part of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
